Today the market has three main players in the game console arena; Wii, Xbox360 and Play Station 3 (PS3) represented by Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony which have all morphed into ergonomic slim profile designs in recent times.

Play Station 3
All have now been in the market for a number of years and are well established with a huge gene of software available with some being universally available across all platforms and some being unique depending on which company developed it. They all now offer intuitive interactive game play through a multitude of accessories such as dance mats, musical instruments, driving and flying consoles with Wii being the most qualified but also only offering a 720p HD resolution where as Microsoft and Sony offer 1080p resolution with Sony also adding Bluray as their standard for playing media giving it a huge advantage in what it can play and the ability to add some sheer WOW into its games.

All consoles have their own unique visual interfaces with the ability to be customized, download and stream games, videos and music once a user account has been established, and photos which can be stored on internal storage.

So how to choose which is most suitable for you? It all comes down to what sort of gamer you are, the Wii is a console for the whole family which can certainly draw a crowd of interactive fun with people jumping around the lounge room playing tennis or just trying to shed those extra kilos. While the Xbox360 and PS3 have those functions they are more suited to action and adventure with dazzling visualizations drawing you into a combat zone or a final fantasy. Finally decide what gene of games is suitable for you, do you want to have loads of multimedia functionality and how much storage is required?  Once decided, go shopping for a great packaged deal and enjoy your purchase.
